### **Minimum Requirements:**
#### **Essential:**
- **Education:** Grade 12 / Matric
- **Qualification:** BPharm or equivalent
- **Registration:** Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC)
- **Experience:** 2-3 years in pharmaceuticals, including retail pharmacy experience (Student/Intern)
- **Skills:** Computer literate (MS Office)

- Registered tutor status

### **Duties and Responsibilities:**
1. **Pharmaceutical Care:**
- Evaluate patients' medicine-related needs, ensuring therapy is safe and effective.
- Dispense prescribed medicines and substances, checking and signing off on prescriptions prepared by assistants or interns.
- Provide advice and information on medicine use, ensure patient compliance with therapy, and follow up on treatment.
- Initiate pharmacist-driven therapy where needed and oversee compounding, preparation, or packaging of medicines.
- Manage the purchasing, storage, and selling of medicines, including supervision of these activities.
2. **Regulatory Compliance and Administration:**
- Ensure compliance with legal requirements per the South African Pharmaceutical Council.
- Capture script details accurately, verify patient information, and manage medical aid claims and errors.
- Keep abreast of medical aid procedures, handle chronic, HIV/AIDS, and oncology medication authorization, and maintain customer profiles.
3. **Customer Service and Public Health:**
- Provide excellent customer service, assisting patients at the dispensary, self-medication counter, and front shop.
- Follow up with patients on script tracking and appointments, explain medical aid costs, and manage customer expectations.
- Evaluate disease conditions and refer patients to in-store health facilities when necessary.
4. **Stock and Asset Management:**
- Report stock levels and errors to the dispensary manager, assist in stock takes, and maintain stock control processes.
- Ensure registers are up-to-date according to legislation and adhere to Dis-Chem's housekeeping and safety standards.
5. **Leadership and Training:**
- Supervise and train other staff members, leading by example.
- Assist the Dispensary Manager in administrative tasks and stock control processes.
