The **Pharmacist** position at Dis-Chem Pharmacies in Vaal Mall, Vanderbijlpark, Gauteng, is a fixed-term contract role, focusing on providing pharmaceutical care and ensuring that patients' medicine-related needs are met.
### **Minimum Requirements:**
#### **Essential:**
- **Grade 12 / Matric**
- **BPharm or equivalent qualification**
- **Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC)**
- **2-3 years experience in the Pharmaceutical field**
- **2-3 years retail pharmacy experience (Student/Intern)**
- **Computer literate (MS Office)**
#### **Advantageous:**
- Relevant retail/FMCG experience
- Third additional language
- SAP and E-scripting experience
- Registered tutor
- Unisolv experience
### **Duties and Responsibilities:**
- Evaluate and dispense medicines based on patients' needs.
- Oversee and verify prescriptions prepared by assistants or interns, ensuring accuracy.
- Provide information and advice regarding the use of medicines.
- Monitor patient compliance and follow up to ensure their medicine-related needs are met.
- Manage the compounding, preparation, packaging, and manufacturing of medicines.
- Handle the purchasing, storage, and distribution of medicines.
- Oversee the registration of medicines and conduct pharmaceutical research.
- Accurately interpret and capture script details in the system.
- Ensure the correct picking, packing, and labeling of medications.
- Stay updated on medical aid procedures and claims processing.
- Assist customers at the dispensary and provide health-related advice.
- Manage stock levels, report errors, and facilitate bi-annual stock takes.
- Support the Dispensary Manager in administrative and stock control tasks.
- Adhere to Dis-Chem’s policies, health, and safety regulations.
