### **Role Overview**:
As a Product Planner, your primary responsibility is the delivery, implementation, and management of business plans that align with the merchandise strategy of your department. This role demands a proactive, solution-driven individual with a passion for retail and the energy to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
### **Key Responsibilities**:
- **Business Plan Implementation**:
- Deliver and implement departmental business plans that align with the Strategic Business Unit’s (SBU) merchandise strategy.
- **Forecast Management**:
- Manage departmental forecasts to achieve growth and profitability targets as outlined in the Business Plan.
- **Merchandise Assortment Planning**:
- Prepare and deliver merchandise assortment plans that support the approved departmental business strategy.
- **Replenishment Management**:
- Ensure adequate product inflows to maintain replenishment service levels, supporting departmental growth and profitability.
- **Risk Management**:
- Provide accurate and timely merchandise information to minimize risks and optimize business opportunities.
- **Project Execution**:
- Execute and manage project plans to achieve defined objectives when applicable.
### **Qualifications**:
- **Essential**: Grade 12 certificate.
- **Preferred**:
- B. Comm./B. Science degree in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Stats, or Business Science.
- National Diploma in Internal Auditing, Cost and Management Accounting, or Financial Information Systems.
### **Knowledge**:
- Understanding of the retail merchandise cycle, including buying, planning, logistics, and store operations.
- Familiarity with seasonal and non-seasonal replenishments.
- Knowledge of the South African retail clothing market, including customer and competitor insights.

### **Experience**:
- **Essential**:
- Minimum of 3 years in product planning within retail or FMCG.
- **Preferred**:
- Experience in replenishment and assortment planning.
- Prior experience in store planning, management, logistics, and supply chain processes.
- Proficiency in planning systems and advanced use of Microsoft Excel.
