### **Job Description:**
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking an experienced Cleaner to join their team on a fixed term contract. The primary responsibility is to ensure the store maintains high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in all areas, including the shop floor, stock room, dispensary, admin office, and canteen.
### **Minimum Requirements:**
- **Education:**
- Grade 12 / Matric
- **Experience:**
- A minimum of 6 months’ cleaning experience
- Previous retail store cleaning experience is advantageous
- **Skills:**
- Sound command of the English language
- Basic customer service skills
- Additional language that is area-specific is advantageous
- **Availability:**
- Willing and able to work retail hours
### **Job Specification:**
- **Daily Duties:**
- Maintain a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the store, including shop floor and communal areas.
- Develop and adhere to cleaning routines to ensure all areas are maintained to high standards.
- Ensure the canteen and restrooms are clean and stocked with necessary products at all times.
- Be available throughout operational hours to address any cleaning needs as required.
- Use correct cleaning products and equipment for specific tasks.
- Display the wet floor sign during floor cleaning.
- Provide friendly and professional assistance to customers.
- Perform duties in accordance with Health and Safety Regulations.

- **Essential:**
- Prior cleaning experience
- Sound command of English (written and oral)
- Customer service skills
- Trustworthy and honest
- Attention to detail
- Presentable appearance
- Ability to follow instructions and manage time effectively
- **Advantageous:**
- Bilingual
- Previous retail store cleaning experience
### **Special Conditions of Employment:**
- Willing and able to work retail hours
- Physically fit for walking, standing, climbing, kneeling, bending, and lifting objects
- Reliable transport and/or reside close to the store
- South African citizen
